Cupertino, CA, United States (AHN) – After receiving complaints about reception on its new iPhone 4, Apple told customers to hold the device differently in order to solve the issue.

The new phone, which went saw a sales frenzy yesterday, has already been slammed with criticism over reception issues caused when a user puts there hand over the bottom left corner of the phone.

“Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas,” Apple said today in an e-mailed statemen.

The new iPhone, which offers a high definition camera and video-calling, is Apple’s answer to fight off the growing popularity of devices running Google’s Android operating system.

Estimates have Apple selling as many as 10 million iPhone 4 devices in the next quarter.
